R111 - black star bullet - minor scuff
R111 - black star bullet - minor scuff
unfortunately i picked up a minor scuff on the rim of my R111 wheel.
it's is only the "polished edge" that lost paint. it looks like a flat silver or grey color, not sparkly at all.
does anyone have a good paint match, for some minor touch up?
cheers
andrew

I have the same wheels for summer tyres and I thought the silver part was just standard Mini 'wheel silver'. I've just ordered a 'wheel silver' touch-up paint kit to do my winter wheels so should know this week if it is really the same colour.
The 'A54 Bright Silver Metallic' touch-up paint (base and lacquer) that my dealer has provided for my regular silver Mini winter wheels looks like a perfect match for the shade of the rims of my R111 summer wheels but, like you say, the rim isn't sparkly.
I wonder (but don't know) if the R111 rims are the same silver paint but with a satin (non-gloss) lacquer over them. Clearly the lacquer over the black parts of the wheel is not high gloss, so I suspect the same lacquer continues over rims. Satin black paint with regular gloss lacquer over it would end up gloss black, so I think the satin effect is from the lacquer.
But I don't know if Mini sells a touch-up paint for the black part of the R111. If they do, it would presumably contain satin lacquer, so two touch-up kits might be needed.
