New Pilot Sport A/S 3 tire from Michelin
I'm not ruling it out, of course, but he's always been straight with me in the past. I've been going there for several years.
Maybe he makes a better margin on the Conti's. I'm keeping subscribed to this thread, I'd really love to hear more impressions, especially once it starts getting colder out.

Michelen vs other brands

Over the years I have purchased many brands of tires. I liked some and disliked others. Many times I was steered away from Michelen because of price. When I bought Michelens, I was always happy. Their sticky tires didn't last long, but the handling for me was awesome. The tires that I bought for my larger cars(Michelen) that had high mileage ratings did last a very long time without getting noisy.
On this forum I see many folks really like Conti DW and DWS's. My experience with Conti has been very poor( all OEM). Who knows?
Thank you, I appreciate the input! I only have one experience with Michelin: I ran Pilot SuperSports on my CBR600. They were sticky, fast, and expensive. One rear tire was $400, yikes. I'm leaning towards giving these AS3's a shot, the more I think about it, the more I suspect the softer sidewall of the DWS will bother me.

Hey Angryriican66, I see you're from Jersey. Which BJ's did you go to? How are you liking the tires so far?

Has anyone done any auto-x events or tracked these tires?
I am getting ready to pull the trigger on some 205/50/r16 on my S-winders. They would be my daily driver tires and would see several auto-x events and a few track days.
Just seeing how everyone's tires are holding up through the summer months and maybe a few driving events.
Thanks for your input so far everyone.

I will report back on how these work for D Stock autocross when I get a few runs on them.

michelen as3
How do you like these tires in terms of steering response and handling?
Found out this morning that the Continental DW's are on backorder from Continental until at least November. So switched and now have a set of A/S 3's on order and hopefully be here by Friday to install on my new wheels.
Small review:
Just put about 117 miles on them today, 94F outside, so nice and warm. Did a mix of some in-town and highway.(even a little impromptu autocross in an empty parking lot) Like other have said very smooth and low noise. Still breaking them in but already ten fold the grip of the crap tires that the last owner had on my car (firestone a/s). Even going from a 195/55r16 to these at 205/50r16 these are not rough over the bumps and pot holes.
For $109 a tire, very impressed so far.

Still loving our A/S 3's. I found this review on them, pretty impressive:

I've had the A/S's on for almost 200 miles now, including a few trips around town and then a 150 mile drive up to college. Gotta say these tires are excellent and can only think they will get better as they start to wear in. Good dry grip on hot Texas roads, quiet and comfortable on the highways and tollways doing 80, and no tramming like you would find in a directional tire.
We usually get less than 12 inch of snow a year in the St. Louis area but if we do get some I will post my thoughts on how they do with a LSD and Traction Control. I will also report on how they do in freezing conditions.
Fun to read those numbers, then even compare them to the Pilot Super Sport test numbers with the rest of the summer tires. The A/S 3 stacks up pretty well and then some.

Ok, so some of you may find this premature, but I have to say, I just had these installed on my wife's 2009 MCS and it's an absolutely extreme difference from the Pirelli tires it had. I understand we had run flats before, but for crying out loud, we've been missing this for 4+ years? So we've only put on about 100 miles on them so far. And these are the few takeaways so far.
1-An amazingly quiet ride. I mean night and day quiet. So quiet we didn't even notice our sunroof had such a loud wind noise, lol. That's going to get checked this weekend.
2-Much smoother ride, much much smoother. I mean it's like driving on memory foam soft.
***One thing I'm still checking out is the MPG. I used to get 32mpg on the previous tires. Going to see where this goes. Just reset the mpg cpu and we'll have to see.
