Looking for allen head lug bolts

I recently bought a new set of rim's for my 09 JCW, the big issue i have is that the oem lug bolt's are too wide to fit into the rim holes. I have seen a set of allen/hex head lug bolts on egay but it says there not compatible with my car,the shoulder on the oem ones is what's giving me the problem. Thanx for any info in advance

Sounds like you need tuner lugs bolts or nuts....
The ends are smaller, and you use a special "key" just like with locks to tighten/looses them...
i'm not sure a allen head lug bolt would be strong enough....i have gauled up the holes on stud/lug conversions.....a jam nut on the outside is the workaround for install/removal...but if the hole was gauled with the rim on....ouch!!
Try the tuner lugs....gororilla makes them.

The issue is not the shape of the lug bolt, but the diameter of the head.

Be VERY careful now - you may be shopping for "tuner" lug bolts with non-standard seat type (ball? conical?) and shank length (may be shorter or longer than OEM). For example: http://www.ezaccessory.com/Lug_Bolts_s/20.htm

Either ask your eBay seller what lug bolts he "forgot" to include in the sale, or research the wheel model and the manufacturer to find out what lugs should go with it.

Welcome to the world of good eBay deals on aftermarket wheels!

a

P.S.: BTDT - have a set of bargain winter BMW wheels that require weird lugs that were not included in the sale

Look for Gorilla small diameter lug bolts, they can be had on Amazon.

I have a set of M12x1.5 for my 2004 MC that I haven't installed yet because I am actually looking at buying a new MCS, but I test fitted the bolts with the rims and they fit perfect in the rim lug holes.
