Which is better overall? Serenity Plus or the MXV4?

When I read these test results, it appears the Michelin MXV4 tires beats out the Serenity Plus in nearly every category:

However, in the following post, the Serenity was declared the #1 tire, beating out he MXV4:
http://blog.tirerack.com/blog/docs-a...-word-serenity

The Serenity was also specifically mentioned in this way: "When encountering larger impacts the Turanza Serenity Plus and AVID Ascend tires both produced some minor boom or "thud" sounds."

Apparently I need to learn how to read test results, or I'm misunderstanding something that I read. Anyone clear this up for me?

I just cancelled an order for MXV4 and am going with the Serenity Plus for my base Cooper. I think the tires are similar enough, but luckily if I do not care for them I can trade them in for the MXV4, which I highly doubt I will need to do.

Thanks to Minihune for letting me know I had different size options, it opened possibilities I didn't know existed.

Look at the dates of the tests....the first one you have links to is aug...the second one is newer...
imo they are so close you likly will not be able to tell the diff....so stop obsessing over you tire purchase, and just enjoy!!
My gut feeling is each tire is aimed at a slightly different part of the market, so trying to group them head to head ingroups for testing is a real challange.....judging by the name, the serenity tire places a quiet ride above all else, and the other more performance with a low noise level.
Tires are like brakepads...the "best" is different for everybody!!

The second one isn't a test, it's a post that does not refer to any specific test other then the one in August. It simply declares the Serenity #1. I guess I'm wondering what test is being referred to, maybe I'm missing something.

Both of these tires are SO good, its really hard to go wrong. Bridgestone does have a ping, but its traction benefits are worth the trade off.
