When Do You Change to Winter Tires?
This thread opens my eyes to the rest of the country (and world). Living in SW FL, I am currently shopping for my next set of summer tires and they need to go on soon as my stock tires are well past the wear bars at 17k miles. I guess instead of the trendy labeling of "First World Problems" I could call this a Warm World Problem. This week has been colder than average with a high of 73-75 and a low in the mid 50s. Sorry guys...had to.

I almost got caught out coming back from MINIs in the Ozarks, had the winter tyres delivered but couldn't get them on and it snowed the next day. Scary trip home from work on summers with 2-4" of snow. Never again...
I have mounted Blizzaks for our '02 MCS which I put on when the mood or weather hits us in November. I also went to 16" for those for more comfort. I love the Blizzak and we're starting year two on the second set. If money wasn't a consideration I'd be purchasing a set of winter wheels/Blizzaks for our '10 MCS which is still on the OEM all-seasons.
While here in Ohio we rarely have roads without salt and brine all over the place, there are those 3 - 4 storms when I'm glad we run the winter tires. No sense tip-toeing down the road because the tires are iffy when there are solutions.

This is a fun thread...I have 3 sets...Summer, All season and winter...Right now I am on the All season as I really don't like the summer tires below about 50 deg. Winter tires will go on at Xmas. If winter comes sooner, the AS tires will be just fine.
