Nitto Nt01 17 fitment questions
Nitto Nt01 17 fitment questions
I have a set of 17x7.5 rims for track use and was looking to mount a set of Nitto NT 01 17x45x225 on them for track and autocross use. Will I have any fitment issue's going to the wider tire?
Typically you want close to stock tire diameter or less for lowered gearing for lower speed acceleration. If you are trying to have a better top speed then a taller tire is OK.
You have several options, using your 17x7.5" wheels these will fit:
205/40-17 tire diam. 23.5", good size for autocross and driving events, good lower speed acceleration.
215/45-17 tire diam. 24.6", a little tall but OK overall
225/45-17 tire diam. 24.8", even taller, likely heavier
235/40-17 tire diam. 24.4", same as OEM tire diam, but usually fits wheels 8-9.5" wide, still possible to use with your rim. I'd pick this size over 225/45-17.
If you want the best fit then 215/45-17 makes the most sense of the sizes available for the Nitto NT 01
Thanks that's great information I wound up ordering 225/45-17 because I got a good price on them they where cheaper than the 215's. Since I'm not going to be racing with them I hope they will work good on track days. I was just looking for some more grip without spending allot of money.

I have used both 215/45 17 and 225/45 17 nitto nt01 for track days. Both do fit but you have to be careful if you are lowered as it might rub especially with the 225.
Nittos are really average r-comps at best but the are cheap. They are really noisy and not as communicative as I would like before they break loose. Just be really careful with them for the first track day or two, until you wear down the release compound.
Have fun on your track days.
