Wheel help

New to the forum, I just got an 08 Cooper S, pepper white and I want to get black wheels on it, ordered the 17 inch JCW black wheels, which i will get new tires for when they come in but I didnt think about this before ordering, will i need to get new springs or anything to install my new wheels? Car currently has 16 inch stock wheels.

Suspension upgrades or changes are not needed or required.

Since you are changing wheels and tires you can choose-

Non runflat tires in 205/45-17 or 215/45-17

You can choose summer tires if weather is warm or All Season tires if the weather does get cold and there could be some light snow.

Non runflat tires will last longer and have a smoother ride for street use.

If you want runflat tires they will ride harsher in 205/45-17 than with the 16" runflat tires you have used in the past due to the lower profile sidewall in the 17" wheel size.

205/45-17 will also cost more and weigh more than non runflat tires.

Thanks for the info, I've been debating runflats vs non runflats, i think I'm going to go with non runflats.. I live in Philadelphia, many potholes etc, so I'll appreciate the smoother ride.
