Gang,
I'm about to commit to 4 new High Performance Cooper Zeon 2XS tires in 205/50/16s. I am told they are comparable to (but admittedly not as good as) the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s but are a whole lot less expensive i.e., within my budget. Any comments before I buy and put these tires on 3 days from now would be greatly appreciated

Cooper tires are not know as a performance tire. If you need to save some money, a comparable tire to the Goodyear would be the Yoko ES 100.

I'm not so sure Coopers aren't known for performance - just depends on the tire, really. They had a great following in the offroad circle I used to run in...

The Zeon 2XS tires look mighty nice, and Cooper does build EXCELLENT quality stuff... give them a shot if the price is nice.

FWIW, I am not all that impressed with my yoko ES100's. I'm also not impressed with the F1 GS-D3's that my buddy has on his MCS. I'm leaning heavily towards BFG KDW's or Falken Azenis next time...

My dad bought a set of Cooper tires for his Accord and remarked how much better the car handled and rode. Cooper uses a different distribution scheme then most other manufacturers (except Kelly) so they aren't as popular and well known. I say go for it, and then chat them up if you like them.

Besides, the name alone is worth considering for every Mini owner.
