From where do the TPMS sensors get their power?
Hi guys,
I have wheels/tires, with TPMS sensors from a 2010 that I want to put on my 2009...the sensors are incompatible. Ughhh.
So I'm wondering if I can just remove the TPMS sensors from the 2009, and pressurize them in a home-made PVC pressure vessel, and that that would fool the car into thinking the 2009 sensors are at the right pressure?
But where do the TPMS sensors get their power to broadcast their pressure? Seems like they would go dead after a while in the "pressure vessel"...but then, I don't know where the power comes from in the wheels either.
Thanks...

OK...duh...found the answer on Wikipedia (after previously not being able to find it here on NAM)...they are battery powered.
Well...OK...that was the obvious answer...but I just couldn't imagine batteries lasting long enough to be a viable option.
Nother question...
About what are my 2009 TPMS sensors worth?
Thanks...
