Hey there Rally. Much appreciation for your commentary in our sidebar conversation. To you as well Creeve. The information ya'll have given has been informative and really got me working through the tough path of hopefully choosing the right set of tires to go with the Rotiforms that will arrive late this month.

Sim, thank you for your commentary and feedback as well. This has been a lively and informative discussion from various perspectives.

As for the tires, I ordered a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport in the size of 205/40/17. With my lowered MINI and the dips, multiple speedbumps I encounter daily and the awful potholes that creep up here and there, the 205/40 was/is the best option for me. I really don't want to rub, nor want to trim my arches, with any larger/taller tire.

Tires will arrive next week. Wheels to arrive late this month or early January. As soon as I have them mounted I will post pics for sure. Heck, I'm really interested to see what these particular Rotiform NUEs look like on a Chili Red. Haven't seen one yet with this set up.

Thanks again friends!

Can anybody tell me what's the max tire width with a stock suspension ? I'm considering 16 or 17 inches wheels and I wan't large tires for summer. I run on 205/55/16 winter tires with no problems, and you guys say it's near the max you can go...

Thanks

Largest tire run on a stock MINI (no wide arches etc) is a 235 with careful focus on getting the ideal offset to avoid rubbing the arches and/or the struts.

He speaks the truth. I am thinking of running a Kumho ASX in 205/40-17 on my new 8 inch wide wheels. Haven't heard much feedback on that idea but wouldn't imagine that would be altogether a bad thing

Part 1 of 2:
Set of 4 Bridgestone Potenza 205/40/17 RE760 tires arrived today. Now the wait is on for the Rotiform Nue wheels later this month.

Wow G33KGUY I would just get MINI friendlier wheel size. 17x8 20 or 25 offset is aggressive as Charlie Sheen is looking for his crack pipe. Try 42 or even 36 offset is much more MINI friendlier. That way you can get a 215/40-17.

Well, the Rotiform NUE wheels I ordered will not be shipped until the end of February at the earlier. Really don't feel like waiting (ordered these on Dec 7.) and have asked for a refund.

Now the search is on for a new set of wheels.

The Ronal R42 looks nice. Any other 5 spoke wheels along this line? Suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks!

Did you order from Rotiform directly?
There are some vendors that have NUE's in stock.

I went through a vendor, Redline Motorworks. Great guys that work there. Who are some other vendors that carry them?

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll check them out.

I did contact Rotiform directly. They verified the particular wheel I ordered (Rotiform NUE 17x8 et30) will not ship until the end of February.

Hi guys. I know this thread is kind of old but it's most relevant of what I found on nam. I found a set of et20. And I was wondering what you guys think of it? I am lowered and I would like to stay that way. I know even with the et30 I would have a raise a bit. But since rotiform is all out of et30. I was wondering if I could fit 20? Not sure what size tires would be best for these too. But the set I found comes with some that looks stretched

What makes you think you would have to raise the car for et30? Go back to page 1 and look at the pics, you can go to the ground on et30. et20 will poke 10mm more. R53 and R56 fitments in most cases are near identical.

Ohh i just thought Im just low since I am on 16" stocks. But ok. I'm just not sure about this fitment stuff lol. I try to ask my guy friends but I just don't get it haha. Will I still be able to go low with et20 and not rub? I might not mind the poke if it's not too out

Hi All

im looking for a set of Rotiform, actually my Mini is lowered on H&R Springs (lower 1.4" i think) and would love to fit a set of BLQ 17x8 ET30, is will rub on 215/40R17 wheels?

our Streets (Santiago, Chile) are not good enough to run on a stretch set up so i would like to fit 215 to run safe

cheers

17x8 et35

Hey guys, sorry to wake up this again!

Someone can tell me if with 17x8 et35 and 205/45 tire I will face some rubbing?

Im not lowered to aggressively...(Eibach Springs)

Any chance of someone who is currently using that exact fitment post a picture?
( 17x8 et35 with 205/45 )

I just dont want any rubbing on spirit driving and the weels poking outside de flaps :/

oh, another thing, 205/45 is the only tire I can use legally in my R56S.. so i have to stay on that size!

I am still trying to decide between 205/40 and 205/45 for my 17" and this might help me make a choice. Wonder which tires these are.

Hi all, you thoughts on xxr 17x8.25 et 25 530's for 09 mcs Lowered 1.40" .
Currently the 17x7 om with potanza 215x45x17 rear and 205x45x17 front need the fat look.

Will poke quite a bit. I have 15X8 +20 with 225/50 and it pokes too much.

Also I think you shouldn't get knockoff wheels

Ok I am considering a set of 17x8's but primarily for track and AutoX. Car will be lowered on coilovers, and adjustable camber at both ends.. Just not sure which offset to go with, 2 choices for the wheels I am looking at and thats ET35 or 45. I want to get as wide a tire as possible.. Which offset should I choose? I'd rather not use any spacers if i don't have to.

I'm running 17x8 et40 (Rota Titan's) so...kinda close? KW V1 coilovers and 215/45 tires (Continental ExtremeContact Sport). I do get some very minor rubbing between the rear front* tires and fender when the car hits a really significant bump, or there's a lot of weight in the car.

*edit* rubbing is on the front, mistakenly said rear */edit*

That's kinda close.. Nice ride.. It's either a 17x7.5 et42 or 17x8 et36. I'm just not 100% sure which way to go...
