2012 Wheel Fit Question

I recently ordered a brand spankin new 2012 Hardtop S. I am looking for a set of winter rims and found a set on craigslist - 16" white rims from a 2006 Cooper S.

Can anyone tell me for sure if they will fit before I buy them?

Thanks,

Steve

The general rule of thumb is that any Mini factory wheel will fit on any Mini.

There are exceptions, of course. You can't put 16 inch wheels on most of the JCW cars because of issues with clearance for the disks.

And there are always issues with the tire pressure monitoring system. 2010 and up have their own transmitters, 2007 through 2009 have another type, and the Gen 1 Minis had yet another system for monitoring tire pressure. In some instances, the TPMS transmitter may not fit well inside the wheel because of the shape of the inside of the wheel.

But the 16 inch 2006 wheels you talk about should bolt up with no issue. You may even want to ignore the TPMS light for winter use. Many do, some even tape over the light to eliminate the issue.
