I am Mario from Mexico and I am new in the forum and I liked a lot, congrats.

I recently bought a Mini 2006 S and I loved it.

I am plannign in change/buy the wheels of my car, I searched a lot and finally I looked and liked these ones:

But I have a little fear about the size of the tires, I saw in some posts here that maybe will rub that tires in my Mini, what do u think ??, the car is not lowered.

Do u think if I go with the 215/35/18 will rub ?? the biggest problem are the streets of Mexico city that have a loooottt of holes.

225/35/18 is not an option because are very expensive, maybe another option is 215/40/18, but you tell me.

Also I don´t know of another size of tires will fit in that wheels, because the store recommends 225/40/18

You are not going to want to hear this, but if you have lots of pot holes, you may want to consider sticking to the stock 16 or 17" size wheels for the extra sidewall clearance.

Just something to think about.....

 

davisflyer, I want to run the risk, I want to change the stock wheels for another model and something bigger than 17", also I only use 1 maximum 2 days of the week my Mini and I take care a lot in everything.

In my last car, a VW Jetta I had 18" wheels and I never had a problem and that car I used it a lot, more than the Mini of course.

Please help me to choose my tires with that wheels.

I wanted the Breyton 18" wheels but for me are very expensive, the cost with the tires is the double of the Kyowa´s 18"

 

I have the same size wheel on my 04 MCS and am running a 215/40/18 and am very happy with the ride quality and overall fit and look.

 

I decided for the Breytons and I am very very happy with them
