Wheel studs for 2011 Cooper S

I did a search, but it just made me more confused... It looks like Mini/BMW (in their infinite wisdom) changed the wheel bolt sizes time to time... And not only that, there are also conversion kits. I have the stock/oem 16" wheels that come with 2011 Mini Cooper S. Next year, I am thinking of getting 17" Konig Feather wheels. I am in the process of getting BC racing coilovers, and chances are I will need 5mm spacers for the front.

I *think* my car uses M14x1.25 size bolts. I want to get wheel studs because I like the convenience they provide during wheel change, and I also like the looks. WMW has M14x1.25 to M14x1.5 conversion set.. Is this any good? They say this conversion enables more wheel choices. Why would tread spacing of a stud make difference on wheel type?

Thank you!

Correct, all 2nd-Gen vehicles run a M14x1.25 lug bolt.

It's actually M14x1.25 --> M12x1.5; the shaft is reduce 2mm.

Being that some wheels in a 4x100 lug pattern utilize a M12 lug bolt gives that availablity to run a larger selection of "over-the-counter" wheels.
However, in my experience, I haven't ran into a wheel that required an M12 bolt; even with some aftermarket applications.

Search on the Konig's you're interested in buying, either TireRack or other sources will give you an answer.

Or there are longer threaded M14x1.25 lug bolts that are available for your spacer needs.
