Quick tire question - Help
I drive a 09 justa' and I got a baddd flat yesterday - Not sure how but I walked out of work to see the tire completely dead, with the rim basically touching the ground. I put the donut on, brought it to my local shop but here is where the problem lies...
My mechanic, who I have not gone to since buying the mini - thanks to the warranty but being that the service center doesnt repair tires, I went to my guy. He is trying to tell me he does not think the tires I have are runflats but I was under the impression all BMW/MINI's only come with runflat tires. The tire can not be repaired so I will have to get a replacement.
Question 1. I do have runflat tires, right?
Question 2. Being that I do have a spare in my car, I can feel safe using non-runflat tires so it would probably be more cost efficient to get an entire new set than to just get 1 or 2 replacement runflats..?
Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks!

1. Your guy is probably correct. Run-flats have "RFT" on the sidewall. Justas normally come with non-run-flats, but with a spare under the boot. The S normally comes with run-flats, but without a spare.
2. If your guy is correct, you already have non-run-flat tires, so you may not need to replace all four tires. Depending on how much wear your other 3 tires have, you may need to replace the 1 tire, 2 tires (on the same axle), or all 4. If all 4 tires are well worn, take this as an excuse to buy the new tires you been wanting anyway.

Just-a-cooper's have runflats ONLY if the rims are the optioal rims that also come on the S....
So a S will ALWAYS come with runflats....
The Just-a-Cooper may/maynot have runflats from the factory...they don't need them, they have a spare....
Also MINI's use DSST runflats...they have VERY stiff sidewalls...there is no way to tell they are flat just by looking at them.
If the rim was touching the ground, they sure are not run-flats. The only reason any car has runflats is there is no room for a spare that will work. If there is a spare, no need for runflats expense or ride quality.
