I have a set of American Racing AR-5 5 spoke white wheels I bought 10 years ago. Thinking about putting them on the Mini w/205/50/15 tires. They are 15x6.5 et35.

That combo is shorter than the 16" Sport wheel setup by 1.4" (24.4 vs 23.0&quot. Too stupid or look OK? I'm thinkin' the 8" tire width will make up for the short'ish tire height? Comments from anyone that has tried this combo?

Before you even bother with that, are you sure the bolt pattern is the same?

 

17'' wheels look the best to me.

Yes.

Special Thanks to GRM for the pic of a mini with 205/50/15 tires. A little short but not bad. The shorter diameter should help with the "no power in 1st gear" topic as the gearing would be a little steeper.
