So I just got a clubman S with run flat sport tires. Car has TPMS.

I plan to get a winter set of wheels and tires.

My question is if the winter set does not have the monitor, what is the impact to the monitoring system? Does it malfunction? Just show the light? Is it disabled when it can find the monitor?

It is just is the irritating light.

 

Because TPMS is a government mandated safety requirement there is no legal way to to terminate the tire light. I am sure that there are some electronic genius's out there who could do it and probably a few such disabled systems are running today, wish I was a genius but there is probably a $100,000 fine and 5 years in prison for doing it. D****d gummint.
