Tire Question

Has anyone run 215-45-17 in the back and 205-45-17 in the front? or the other way around?

My situation is Goodyear Eagle F1 tires are discountined. I've put on two 205-45-17 not too long ago but now i need to replace the rear too. The only size left is 215-45-17.

I've tired to run the rear with a Conti DWS tires but the car feels like it's going to loose control whenever it hits a bump or turning on the freeway (going 65mph or so).

Wondering if anyone ran this combo of tires on their R53?

I personaly would not do it.

It may be fine on a rear wheel drive car but I do not think it would be very safe on a front wheel drive car. I also think you may end up having problems with the DTC etc. The Tire pressure monitors might still be another problem. I also have heard you are not supposed to use two different brands of tires at all.

I'm no tire expert, I only go by what I have been told over the past 50 or so years.

Agreed. While TPMS monitors will not be affected, avoid mixing if at all possible. Also it makes little sense to stagger like this on a front wheel drive car.

It is actualy an old Honda trick to run a narrower tire in the rear to reduce a little understeer at the limmits of the tires grip. You should be fine running this combo, just make sure the 205's are in the back or you could end up with more understeer.
