Bridgestone G019 Impression
Bridgestone G019 Impression
Replaced worn OEM Continental ProContact SSR 195/55/R16 @26K with a set of Bridgestone G019 Grid 195/55/R16 @ 33psi, first 500 miles:
Pros:
1. Greatly improve ride quality, especially over bumpy surface.
2. More grip in both dry & wet condition (Conti SSR never had this much grip even when it was all new)
3. Similar braking performance
4. Way better in term of hydroplaning resistance (easily run@10-15 mph over Conti's limit(new) and still not a hint of hydroplaning). Much more stable in the rain during quick direction change.
5. Similar steering feel as Conti SSR
Cons:
1. It's quiter than Conti SSR but not by much.
2. Slightly slower steering response
3. Less stable on highway surface with deep/irregular pattern (due to full thread depth?)
Fuel economy stays the same city/highway. Overall these G019 feel very similar to Conti OEM in term of handling characteristic.
