Anyone know proper way of reinstalling brake pad sensor?
Hey all,
After busting the brake pad sensor in a recent brake job I ordered the replacement part but when i went to install it to the brake assembly i had trouble getting the sensor into the socket. I dont want to force it to hard because these things tend to be fragile. Does anyone know of a good way to get it in? Sorry if this is a stupid question...

Not a stupid question if you don't know how to do it.
Make sure you have the pad "hole" on the correct side. What I mean is on my race pads, I think only one half of pads have that cutout where I think factory pads have the cutout on both halves.
Sometimes it's very difficult to do it by hand. If you can't snap it into place by hand, try the following.
Place the sensor on it and get a stubby, flat center punch and tap it gently but firmly with a hammer. (LIGHTLY, you're tapping it into the cutout, NOT driving it in)
It will "snap" into place.

i broke my sensor trying to get it off as well, but not badly enough to trip the light. I just taped up the sensor end, coiled it up and nearly cable-tied it onto the brake line or something else that was handy. You can hardly notice it -- the dealership didn't even say anything about it when I had it in for fluid change the other day.
Bingo!

The "snap" is the key...it is noticeable.
