TPMS Question

Tomorrow I should have my 4th wheel from Tire Rack, and I'll have everything set to be mounted (as long as this one doesn't come dented too ). I was talking to my (GM) mechanic uncle today about the TPMS in the wheel. I ordered the new sensors with my new wheels, and they have already been mounted by Tire Rack, but my uncle told me I'll probably have to make a trip to the dealer to have the car "sense" the new sensors.

Is that true? I was thinking they were just sort of "plug-n-play." Not like I'm really worried about a trip to the dealer, but am I going to have to make one, or will the car realize the new sensors are there when the new wheels are mounted on the car?

Thanks!

Mine were plug and play; I got winter wheels with TPMS installed from TireRACK last November, and I didn't even have to "reset" the tire pressure in the MINI's On Board Computer.

Cool thank you.

I'm hoping it's that simple.
