Do MINI center caps fit in other wheels? Powder coating experiences?

I'm thinking about getting these wheels sometime and would like to keep the MINI center caps if possible. Anyone know if they fit?

I'm also planning on getting the chrome parts powder coated body color (oxygen blue) if it isn't too expensive. (Any one get powder coating done before?)

Your best bet on the center cap issue may be to call Alex at Tire Rack, He is the MINI specialist there. If he does not know he will find out.

And on the wheels there is no chrome so I suspect you mean the machined (not black parts) are what you want to get powder coated. You may be able to just have them painted as many people here have had rims painted and they last very will if Done properly. And Pinting woudl probably be less expensive.

yes, I'm sorry. I meant the silver parts. I do know a guy that does a good job with paint and is pretty reasonably priced (he seems like he does it because he enjoys it and not at all for the money). My boyfriend insists that they *should* be powder coated.

I had a set of Rota RBs powdercoated and after two years they still look like new. More expensive than painting, but more durable.

It's unlikely that the complete OEM center cap is a direct fit, but you could use just the MINI logo metal plaque sticker if it's a close size. I and others have used it on aftermarket wheels. I believe it is 50 mm diameter. If it's not the right size, one of the vendors can create custom domed vinyl stickers.

Here is the OEM plaque: http://www.minicarparts.net/Parts/36_13_6_758_687.cfm

It happened to be a perfect size for my SSR wheels:

Those wheels are machined, might add considerable more labor (cost) to smooth surface to prep for powder coat. Doubt oem caps will fit but you can rig them to fit with some Home Depot items and MacGuyver spirit.
