Enkei Racing Series wheels are manufactured using the MAT (Most Advanced Technology) process. MAT is a new technology for producing an aluminum wheel by combining Enkei's MAP (Most Advanced Production) and flow-forming forging technology. MAP is a highly automated system.

Each process is connected in a single-piece flow system that transports wheels from the melting process, through heat treatment and on to machining. The process of spinning the rim vs. casting it to both shape and elongate it produces a finer, more even aluminum structure and ensures the wheel will remain lightweight yet strong.

The complete MAT process has a drastic impact on the microstructure of aluminum and results in outstanding improvement of the mechanical property of the material.

Looking at the Brembo, you'd have to be really carefull with wheel weights the radial cleanances are very tight!

Et 38 is would be better.

Thanks, Alex. I guess I could always file a little bit off the weights if it came down to that. Just to doublecheck, are you sure the Ultra OZ's have a little more breathing room than these Enkeis?

 

Just get the weights mounted on the inside of the rim instead.

Just Got these Enkei PF01 yesterday.Got them at America Tire for $233. They are 17x7 et38. I was told they were 15.6 lbs. I Hit a SO. Cal pothole in my original Enkei RP01 SBC(I posted my old ones in the forum market.).Wanted to get new ones...Gotta say i do like 'em

 

So hard to wait. Looks like mine will get to the UPS distribution Center in town tonight, but won't deliver until Monday morning.

I just got the enkei edr9's and they are also made using the MAT technology. They're priced pretty reasonable, but aren't very light.

Tire Rack has posted the weight for the 17" PF01 at 19.6 lbs. Is this correct or a typo?

BTW... I can confirm that the 17x7 45mm offset wheels clear the stock calipers on a 2009 JCW. Not by a ton, but they do clear.
