The MINI has a 56.1mm hub, so you want the wheel to be the same whether it comes that way stock or whether you get hubcentric rings. My guess is that the hub bore in the volks is up in the 70's since it's a JDM wheel so you will need hubcentric rings. It's impossible to tell without knowing what bore the wheels are though.
I hope tire rack can provide me with the correct ring. Would make my life easier.

My question is, does anyone know of such an animal?
Twister: Palo Uber sells 14mm "tuner" lug bolts in black that fit the R56. AFAIK they are the only company that sells them. They are needed for many aftermarket rims because the OEM lugs are too fat. The only other alternative is a bolt conversion kit like TSW sells.
There is a lot of hate about some of the palo products, but their bolts are very strong. Just make sure you use plenty anti seize on them if you use them in the winter or they will rust on so badly you'll never get them off again.

edit: nevermind, it looks like Palo Uber MINI is not around anymore.

If TireRack doesn't have them, I got a set of aluminium Center Rings 73mm / 56.1mm center rings at Discount Tire Direct for $15. 800-589-6789

The 73mm is what fit my wheels. The 56.1mm is what fits the R56 hub.

Looks like TSW doesn't ship to FPO addresses. My wheels are on their way now so i'm in a hurry now. Should have bought these adapters earlier.

Robin, to clarify, you used those wheel hangers to mount your rb's with the stock wheel studs? Is there wiggle room seeing as the bore on the hole is larger than the bolt?

Where did ya get them at?

Thanks, -j

I thought that Palo Uber is no longer in business.

I bought the studs from autoxcooper.com instead. This has been one heck of a time getting everything right with tire rack.

I would like to revive this thread again to ask an additional question or two.

In my situation, I have aftermarket snow tire rims off my old 2003 R53 and want to use these in interchangeably with the stock rims that came with my 2012 R56. As has been noted, the bolts holes on the older rims are too small to accept the newer bolts.

If I installed a stud conversion kit, would I be able to find lug nuts that would fit both rims? If so, would using the smaller diameter stud with the new, R56 rims cause any potential issues?

to those of you who have done the WMW lug/stud conversion how long do you need to let the red loctite sit before its 'cured' and drivable? is 8ft pounds the correct torque for each stud?

thanks.

From what I recall 18 ftlb is the torque value for the studs.
I let the red loctite cure for a day before I torqued on the lug nuts.
Loctite probably states a full cure time on the bottle or website.

WAY told me 8ftlbs. is there anywhere to confirm this figure?
how did you let it cure? just leave it on jackstands for a day?

you don't need to wait at all to put your wheels back on. the stud isn't going to move while putting on the lug nut.

TSW who originally had the studs made said 18 ft-lbs. TSW sold all their parts to Way.
I just looked at the Loctite 271 (Red) spec sheet for curing times to get to 100% strength. 39F is 24 hours, 72F is 24 hours. 104F is 5 hours.
I just left my car on jack stands for a day. Depending on the temperature you could mount wheels, lighty screw on nuts, and take car off jack stands before 24 hours because at 72F the loctite is at 75% strength after 2 hours.
Here is a link to the spec sheet:
