Tire Storage
I was wondering if there are any special precautions I should take when I store my runflats/wheels now that my winter tire's are on their way from tirerack.com ? Will they be ok sitting all winter on cold stone in my backyard (covered ofcourse) or should I start digging out space in my basement?
Thanks,
Alex

i keep my summer tires stacked up in the garage (above 32F) during the winter
time. what I do is get a nice brush and wash up the tires/wheels inside and out
especially around the rim where it meets the tire. then clean up the face of the
wheels real good, let dry for a couple of days. then wax up the wheels and
lightly sauceup the tires (meguiars stuff is good, the non shiny stuff) then
use cardboard discs to separate the tires from sticking to each other and
stack them up. (i usually stack 2 sets, so 8 high).
oh yah, don't forget to pump up the tires to about 38psi as well.

store them in a dry environment off the ground, out of direct sunlight. I would not overinflate, or juice up the tire prior to storage.. Some people put each wheel/tire in a bag (dry cleaning) and with a vaccume suck the air out!
