225/45/15 on a 15x6.5 wheel?

Looking for some help here. This if for the track only and I'm getting a set of Toyo R888s in either 205/50/15 or 225/45/15 sizing. Am I able to run the 225s on a wheel that is 6.5" wide? I'm thinking it might be a bit too wide but I want to hear from the track gurus here.

wow with those sizes your ODs are significantly smaller than stock. Just seems more than would be optimal to me.

I think at 225 you will be rubbing on the side of the strut just slightly. Might be okay if you get your offset down to the 40mm or below range. Would fit on the R56 most likely.

225/45/15 has been squeezed down to 6.5 or even 6 inch wide wheels by Miata owners for years. It will tramline on the street, and the short diamter may look silly on mini. Being so short in my experience this size fits mini without rubbing.
