RF Tire Rotation
somebody that is more tire mechanics inclined then myself help me out???
For many many years I've been a good car owner and rotated my tires with every oil change. so my tires wear evenly. this was never an issue for me until I got a higher end car. Ok... it was a Honda Accord EX V6. The tires were V rated. So when it came time to replace the tires, I had to fork out hundreds at one time to replace all 4.
I ended up getting 3 hondas in a row until I saw the light and got a Mini this year.
At one point I stopped rotating the tires and letting the fronts wear down first. Then i would get two new tires for the back and move the back tires up front. the back tires got very little wear compared to the front. This worked for me with no issues... besides the funny looks I got from service managers at Honda. Oh well, it was easier on my bank account.
Do I risk any performance or dare I say it "warranty" issues if i employ this same strategy with my Mini? What are the advantages to tire rotation besides just even wear?
Also. If you have a Kaufman Tires near you... they will generally do a tire rotation and flat repair for free... trying to earn you business for the replacments....
thanks...

I'm not sure about this, but you might end up with uneven wear patterns on the tires with this strategy. If so, the tires would have a shorter life.
I suspect that the differences might be subtle, but I don't really know.
Most tire places will do free rotation if you buy tires from them. Some will do it on any tires to try and get your business next time.
Jack Stands
I realize this is an old thread, but, on the previous page, Toolazyforalogin has his MINI on two jack stands. This looks scary-unbalanced
There are two rectangular shapes in the side rail - fitting exactly in the jack stand. At least in my 2010 it is. Perhaps I err too much on the side of caution
