I had a Miata with 215-40/17 wheels and tires...terrible decision.

Looked fantastic. Biggest problem: BENT WHEELS.

I bent 5 of those $250 mothers over the life of the car. Not hitting anything special. typical road bumps or potholes that normal cars with 45-50 series tires absorb.

The bends are ugly, sometimes wobbly, and in one case cause me a flat tire because the bend was so sever that air leaked out the edge.

At first I tried repairing them. The are never 100% round after repair, and evey wheel I had repaired bent again in te same place later because the metal was weaker.

I get my MCS this month but I learned my lesson about the financial burden of maintaining oversized wheels with low-height tires and I will not do it again. I'm going with factory 17" R90s i think.
