Track tires for autocross.

so i hear that yoko S.drives are a little mushy and un responsive from some people on the forum and that was what i had my sights set on. i'm looking for a 205 50 15 for my 02 MC i see that dunlop doesn't make the direzza DZ101 in that size. i was wondering if anyone knows how big of a difference there is between the two and if a novice autocrosser with a CVT MC would need anything more than the s drives or the DZ101's. thanks for any help!

Jesse

There are lots of tires that would meet you req's. Just do a search on Tire Rack and check the reviews.

I am more concerned about you wanting to autoX your CVT.......probably not a good idea what with the potential problems these tranny's seem to have.

the way i read TireRack reviews, inicates that S.Drive should have better steering response (less mushy sidewall) than DZ101.

go with the Hoosier R6. They are the schtuff at the track and will last longer than the A6 for autocross. If you don't want/can't change tires at the event, pick up the new Bridgestone RE-11's... the next best thing to the Hossiers!

I don't know if a novice autocrosser as he calls himself, will be able to fully utilize RE-11's much less the "slicks"
