Thunking noise after changing wheels
Thunking noise after changing wheels
I just put new snow tires and wheels on my 05 MCS cabrio this weekend and immediately when I drove it, as I let out the clutch there was a clunk in the right front wheel area like sucking your tongue off the roof of your mouth. It happens on every shift unless I am really soft letting the clutch out. It doesn't change in pitch or sound different as I shift the gears. There's nothing loose, I've taken the the wheel off and re torqued the bolts.
I'm clueless. Why would jacking up the car at the jack points cause something to go bump in the day?

Since your're not getting any responses Ill throw this out there.
Once, when changing over to my race wheels, one of the
hub centric rings stuck on the hub and I didn't notice. So when I bolted up the other wheel it had 2 rings on it! Figured it out before I drove on it, but that could be a problem to check for.
