Quote: F*** CostCo. Tires should be purchased at tire shops, not big box megamarts; ask anyone who's purchased cheapo tires at Wal Mart and have been disappointed. I have the G-Force Sports as well (awesome tires) purchased thru Discount and they've been nothing but great. I run them in spring summer and fall and the OEM all-season runflats in the winter.
well, the thing is, I went to America's Tire co, and a set of exact same tires were $752 dollars mounted, which is $250 more than the Costco.

If someone needs a set of tires and Costco carries it, I think Costco is totally fine since their price is ultra low, even cheaper than Tirerack.

America's Tire Co. is also known as Discount Tire and I bought my tires there after getting a price match plus additional discount from my Sams Club quote.

So my suggestion is to take a quote from Costco to Discount Tire and have them match it, I'm pretty sure they will.

I received excellent service at Costco when I needed new tires for my last car, and the price was much, much lower than any local dealers, and included the tire warranty for which the other dealers all charge $10-$15 per tire. Balancing was perfect, they properly greased the centering hubs (this was a BMW), the wheels were torqued correctly, and there wasn't a scratch on the rims. I would not hesitate to use them again. These were not cheapo off-brand tires, but top rated Michelins, the same tires sold at any Michelin dealer. for Costco!

Costco - Non Run Flats - No Hassles
I bought Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (Non Run Flat) from Costco and they swapped out the Run Flats that were in my MINI, I had NO spare tire. No hassles!! I had the work done in Costco, Edison, NJ.

I love Costco!!!

Question to the OP. Why would Costco have a problem with replacing a failed tire on your car under warranty when they where the one to replace the runflats with BF Goodrich on the car. Just curious.

Costco also will not mount anything that's not the factory specified size. I would have fried them going from 17" to 16" wheels with non-run flats. Their policies are more than a little paranoid. There are lots of places to get tires other than Costco. I'd find them.

Not sure if you have America's tire or Discount tire shops in your area but I think they do a great job on price matching and workmanship.

Watch for their specials and get their credit card; I charged two sets of tires and only paid a minium payment each month for 6 months without any interest added.

Costco did the same thing to me about only using stock sizes and oem specs like
those Runflat tires.

Just take off the rims and tires, then they will do anything since they have not put anything on any car.

Earlier this year, Costco installed Michelin AS tires on my new(er) 16" wheels, transferred the TPMS from my former 17" to the 16" wheels and, as, has been mentioned here, will rotate the tires every 5-8 miles. Not a bad situation IMO

did you happen to notice you responded in a thread that was last active in 2008?

I wonder if COSTCO 'policy' has changed . . . .

I'm not slamming you -- I see you are relatively new and I guess WISELY reading all the old stuff. GOOD, there is a ton of good info there. But I suggest you check the relevance before you 'reply' . . .
