No Tire Rotation
My feeling is that if you want even wear, and quiet tires rotation is necssiary part of maintence. If you wait too long between rotations, you can have a sympathetic vibration, due to uneven tread block wear, now being reversed.
If a wheel/tire combo is balanced its balanced for any position. Unless your tires are flat spotted, or wheels are dented, a balance should still be in balance.
As far as how to on your tires.
Break all 4 loose on the ground, and put the car on 4 jackstands.
This is the safest way to do things. Yes it's a $60 investment aside from your jack, but think of the cost involved if the vehicle fell.
