My new 18's that almost didn't happen!

Hey Guys, In my haste to get a new set of 18" wheels for my (new to me) 06 JCW I went ahead and ordered a set of Sportmax 502's Hyper silver, 18X7.5 42mm offset with 215/40/18 Falken FK-452's. After ordering I find out my car was produced in July 2006 the EXACT month Mini converted over to the new 14.125mm wheel bolts . My local Mini dealer informed me my car had the new sized bolts and he had not been able to find any aftermarket wheels that had holes big enough to accept that bolt size. So I'm freakin. Anyway long story short I head to a large local tire shop, he pulls out a 14.125 tuner wheel bolt and it slides through my wheel hole like butta . I'm thinking thank Lord my wife won't kill me!!! Out of curiousity the tire guy checks the bolt on Konig, FRD and some other brands and it didn't fit but did fit all Sportmax! Talk about relief! Anyway on with the pics.

BTW 215/40/18's with JCW suspension no rubbing issues at all

Of course there are more in my gallery! thanks

I'm glad that all worked out for you.

Nice Wheels for your nice MINI.

Don't forget to set your parking brake so you don't slide backwards into the water!

Aftermarket wheels don't always fit the new bolts, you have to do some checking like you did.

How do you like your Falken Fk452 tires in 18"? Supposed to be very good similar to Toyo T1R.

Thanks yes it was a toss up between the T1r's, I haven't had chance to test them in the rain yet but dry traction is superb very very sticky, not loud, ride vs 17" run flats pretty much the same so far so good. T1R's are supposed to be a little sticker in the dry but the Falkens plenty good enough and the Falkens have longer tread wear.
