Great job--but I would not tint the windows (after all, don't you want others to be able to see who has such a cool car?

The stealth look is fabulous on a Silver Mini, however, one good mode leeds to another as they say

Great looking wheels, L.! ... just watch out for the potholes!
I want some nice light-weight beauties like that too, but after seeing all the rough roads around our fair country, i'd be scared of bending a rim everytime i went out ...

... and you said those new tyres are "rougher" than the old run-flats? ... others have suggested that replacing run-flats make the ride smoother and more quiet - does the roughness come from going to 17's from 16's?

Good idea about the black calipers! ... bet they'd look good on my black cooper too ... hmmmm ...

The ride is slightly rougher than with the 16"s when going over bumps....but on flat ground the tyres themselves seem quieter and smoother than my runflats. They are for summer though...I will put my stock wheels back on for winter. The runflats were surprisingly good in the snow.

Your wheels are a nice style, but they do look HUGE on the MINI. I really think the MINI belongs on 16's or 15's. But then again, you know the saying... opinions are like [a part of the body where the sun don't shine], everyone's got one.

>>Your wheels are a nice style, but they do look f-in HUGE on the MINI. Sorry to say, but I really think the MINI belongs on 16's or 15's.

everybody has their own opinions of course. but if they "belonged" on 16s or 15s, why does bmw offer 17s as options?

i agree small cars should have smaller wheels, and big cars whould have bigger wheels, but i myself have 17s on my mcs, and i htink the mini is able to pull the larger wheel off, as long as you dont over do it aka 19 inch wheels.

i think her set up looks great, but as i said, everyone is entitled to thier opinion

I love the look of larger wheels on a MINI...I don't think mine really look all that huge. I do have a big fender gap though...which may add to the illusion of the wheels being larger. I have to lower my car.

Lowering is a really nice mod...for ride purposes and aesthetics. The will really feel planted in thw twisties, especially with the fatter tires.

L.Mini - how far a drive from Philly are you? Because that's where a special place for mods is...

I am about an hour and a half or so from Philly....maybe. Maybe like 2 hours. I'm not exactly sure.

If you don't mind a bit of motoring and such, Helix is a great place to get that done. I've had Eric do lots of fun stuff to my Cooper...including suspension work. He's reasonably priced to boot. I'd say I'm around an hour and a half from there as well, but it's worth the drive.

I have definitely considered Helix. My current shop of choice is NGP in Aberdeen, MD. I have some time to decide....it's going to be a bit before I can do my suspension. Have to save up some $$ first.
