Looking for info on the AXIS Widetrack 18x8 wheel
Here is a link: http://www.axiswheels.com/wheels.php?id=widetrack
These are by far the best wheels I've found for my wife's '08 MCS; which is currently on order. Nice style, nice lip, nice price, not the lightest wheel at 19lbs but that's OK since looks are the focus at this point. HRE and Hamann wheels are just WAY too expensive. I've seen a couple pics of MINI's with these wheels but no real info. Size is 18x8 +40offset
1) Are these wheels compatible with the OEM TPMS? As in can the stock unit be transferred over no problem?
2) Should I do a staggered set-up with a 60mm lip up front and a 90mm lip out back? Or 60mm lip all around? How would this affect the drivability of the car, if any?
3) What tire size should we run on stock suspension to maintain a nice look without the fear of bending the rim if we encounter a pothole? Prefer a NON run flat. We may upgrade to the JCW kit later but never just springs or a coilover set-up.
This is her DD and will see the track a few times each year. I may opt for a different wheel and tire set-up for the track at a later point so track worthy-ness for these wheels is not necessary.
I've emailed our friend Alex @ Tire Rack for his thoughts and am awaiting a reply.
If anyone else has any insight it would be greatly appreciated
