Wheel width?

What is the widest wheel I can put on my Mini. Is the stock 7 or 7.5 the widest? I am looking to put 17 or 18's on

8" wheels, either in 17 or 18 will fit easily. i know.

edit for clarification: my 8" wheels fit inside the wheel wells, with no cutting on a MINI lowered about 1.25-1.5". 2.5*front camber, 1.5* rear camber. camber will greatly effect how the wheel fits.

I fit 8.5's and I know a few people with 9's.

9.5 is probably the widest you can go.

These 8.5's were on 17's or 18's? Do you have your Mini lowered at all?

15's and the car is lowered A LOT

I know of a few people who ran 17x9's in the rear lowered on coilovers as well. It really all comes down to proper stance....tire sizing, camber, offset, etc.
