Tire Help

I need new tires. I had the Dunlop Sport 9000. I don't want to put that much money into a new set and not sure I want runflats. Definitely would not buy these again. Not enough bang for the buck. But, if I don't buy run flats, where does the spare tire go? Any recommendations?

I have an '06 MINI Cooper S Convertible.

Get a can of Slime and a portable air compressor. (about $15 at any autoparts store). That should cover you in a lot of cases. Then make sure you have a cell phone and AAA in case you really get stuck.

Yeah, I carry slime, a compressor, a dynaplug kit, and a regular "sticky" plug kit, and a pair of pliers. I'd plug instead of sliming, if I just had a nail or screw, etc.

You can put a donut spare behind the passenger seat - several folks do this. You can buy nice little canvas bags for the spare to keep things tidy. I've considered adding a spare as I drive a lot of long distances on business - but haven't so far and haven't needed it.

And a cell phone, and AAA... odds of being stranded are very, very low. Possible that I might be delayed to a meeting sometime. But I very, very rarely have flats... knock on wood...
