What offsets do you plan on running to get 9's to fit? My guess is that you won't be able to find an offset that wouldn't rub without lots of trimming and tire stretch. Some people have run 17x9's but even that comes very close to rubbing and requires arch trimming.

For 18's, 8" width would definitely be your best bet on the R56. Honestly that or smaller, the OEM size is 18x7".

Check out The Tire Rack. They offer quality products plus a wealth of information regarding wheels/tires.

agreed...18x8 or 18x7 would probably be a better bet if you're just starting out with aftermarket wheels....fitting wider wheels requires a lot of attention to offsets and fitment.

SSR's are good wheels and they do offer a nice light weight. Generally, 18's aren't really chosen for performance....they weigh more than the smaller wheels.

How are those performance oriented? Those things weigh a ton.

They are GREAT wheels, but i dont think there's any way they are performance oriented.

yah, i think the 18 inch version is something like 23+ pounds which is quite a bit more hefty than performance wheels. It's part of the heavier multi-piece design. They look amazing, but they aren't performance oriented.
