I'm with Johnny. go with 195/45/16 ... I have the same tim is cudda and my tires are 195/50/16 toyo proxes. once these wear off I will definitly get 195/45.. more stretch..u will need a adjustable camber kit upfront with the vmaxx CO. u can look into megansCO which they the camber kit already..i think megans are the best for ur buck co. I love mine so far... no complaints.

Cudda_Kine 01-28-2010 11:15 PM

can someone post a pic of 195's stretched? I'm thinking about just using my old tires lol. if it looks good.

You'll get more stretch going 205/45/16 falken 512's then you will 195/45/16 in any other brand out there...garaunteed.

Case in point, Johnny's wheels compared to my current wheels. He's running 195 kumhos on 8's and I'm running 205 falkens on 8's and mine stretch way more.

This man speaks the truth

smlzilla 01-29-2010 09:17 AM

+1 with Johnny. rally is the man when come to this stretch/poke..

rally: thanks the tire advice. I'll look into that. 205/45/16 falken512

Cudda_Kine 01-29-2010 10:39 AM

Alright. Off to costco today. 205/45/16 it is.

smlzilla 01-29-2010 11:39 AM

205/45/16 falken 512

Cudda_Kine 01-29-2010 02:18 PM

idk? They said they have bf goodrich. Are those good enough?

Mini Fireman 01-29-2010 03:27 PM

Discount Tire Direct.

smlzilla 01-29-2010 07:04 PM

bfgoodwich I believe don't stretch well. u NEED tire that stretch well like toyos or falken... like rally said 205/45/16 falken 512...will stretch better then stretching 195/45/16

LiLReD1 01-29-2010 07:38 PM

Do run flats stretch??

JohnnyVillan 01-29-2010 09:47 PM

I got my wheels on but the amounts of rubbing and scraping are massive. I cant get it out of the driveway to take pics until I do some trimming on the front bumper and the arches. Hopefully I'll have pics up tomorrow.

Cudda_Kine 01-29-2010 10:03 PM

Would 195/50/16 look ridiculous? I didn't place my order yet at costco because i was uncertain about the tire size lol. I'm pretty sure my 195/55's would look too tall but i'll try them on anyways tomorrow morning to see about the stretching look. It's Goodyear/Eagle NCT5 btw. Probably doesn't stretch well either. ha!

Edit:
http://www.tyrestretch.com/zp-core/i...5&cw=&ch=&q=85
Here's 195/45/16's. So the 55's will look similar, just taller? I don't mind that look.

Not at all

Soft Sidewall is required for stretch.

JohnnyVillan 01-31-2010 05:21 AM

^^Thanks man

Yea they're xxr 501s. Just place holders until I can get a set of BBS RS or something. They look pretty decent though lol.

Cudda_Kine 02-18-2010 06:50 PM

Did you lower your car? If not, then i wouldn't be able to use 195/50/16 since your ones are rubbing now.

Dude look at the pics lol

My car is SLAMMED

LiLReD1 02-18-2010 09:20 PM

Anyone running Falken ZE-912's? I see some use the 512's, and the 912 is the upgraded tire.

Bad upgrade, 512's are way better IMO  The 912's are probably a little more advanced, but don't stretch nearly as well.

LiLReD1 02-19-2010 09:47 AM

Right on, good to know. After I save up for another set of wheels (if I get that far), I'm definitely going for the stretch/slammed look, prolly on some 16's.

Anyone have a pic of Clubbies with the stretch look? I have one, but it's on my HD that isn't here. :( Was gonna post it to see if anyone could identify it.

JohnnyVillan 02-19-2010 03:11 PM

I'll let Rally post his Clubman himself lol

Cudda_Kine 03-03-2010 03:44 PM

Someone is selling used Eagle NCT5 195/55/16's for cheap. Will these not stretch well on the 16x8 rim?

IMO stretching a used tire that wasnt previously stretched is just asking for a blowout.

Also, a 195/55 on an 8" rim wont really stretch at all. It'd be closer to square than stretched.

You're in Hawaii right? Did you go to Hellaflush 4? There were WAY more cars than I thought there would be out there. Im sure there are PLENTY of people that can help you get tires locally.

Cudda_Kine 03-17-2010 05:10 PM

I live on Maui lol, not Oahu. I've ordered the 15x10 et12 (6"Backspace) White Diamond Racing Wheels two days ago. I'm looking for tires now. Will it be "more legal" if i get 205's and stretch them? Since that's what europe does to pass legal laws. If not, then i'll just get the 225/45's.

I wouldn't even bother stretching honestly. You will never stretch enough on that set up to get anywhere close to the fenders. The wheel is going to be extending 2" beyond the fender. BTW thats not a guess, if I'm right you will be poking 49mm which is 1.93in. I'm using an 8" et 35 as a reference, because they sit almost perfectly flush.

Mini Fireman 03-17-2010 05:40 PM

I can't wait to see this setup on your car, Cudda. Simply epic.

ImNotViley 03-17-2010 05:46 PM

Totally agree. It's gonna look so good

Still closer to HF4 than me lol

I really hope those steelies work out for you. If they clear the brakes I'll sell my wheels this week and get myself a set of 15x8s.

Also watch your front struts cause you'll probably be making contact with those if you're gonna try and run 10s up front.

I dont think we have the same "poke" laws that europe has, I'd still stretch though. You're reeeeeally gonna have to lower your car to pull off the look IMO.

If it was my car I would run a 205/45

http://www.tyrestretch.com/zp-core/i...5&cw=&ch=&q=85

Cudda_Kine 03-17-2010 08:45 PM

Lol thanks, all of you. Yes i thought so. Running 205/45 will let me lower my car more than running 225/45's. The rims should be coming anytime next month (2 weeks to make rims, 10-12 days for shipping). I can't believe i was thinking about getting 205/55 since someone on craigslist is selling 'em for $20ea. It would be way too tall IMO.
Anyways, here's a video of someone stretching 205/50's on 15x10's...

http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...l3pLlfHXiHOgTg

Cheetah Stretch FTW! ;-)

EDIT: Oh ya, someone asked me about joining Maui SCCA (AutoX Racing) since i'll be getting such wide tires. Maybe i should get 225's than the 205's? A little more on the safe side for fast turns.

and if the rims don't fit over the calipers? I could just use spacers right? Lol, spacers on 15x10s. Someone told me that if they don't fit, they will buy them for the price i payed. Then maybe i'll try 16x10's w/ 205/35's (Only if i can't get the 15's working). :-)

not-so-rednwhitecooper 03-17-2010 10:19 PM

Get stock in wheel bearings, you are going to be going thru them monthly.

Cudda_Kine 03-17-2010 10:44 PM

Really?

not-so-rednwhitecooper 03-17-2010 11:02 PM

Yep. You are shifting the load off to one side of the bearing.

Stock wheels load the bearing in the center, equally. A little is alright. When you start putting excessively wide wheels with improper offsets on, you wear other parts.

Front bearings are about $200 each, rears are about $170 each. I would budget for one full set. They could fail faster depending on miles. You are wearing them exponentially faster.

Gotta pay to play.
