Show me your WHEELS!
wheels look nice............makes a world of diffrence
I love them, it makes the world of difference to the mini... i cant take all the credit my boyfriend did help my put them on.
just thought i should put the diff in weight between the stock 16 and my 17inch which is less. i thought that was awesome.

my stock wheels are for sale if interested $500 with tires plues shipping

They're obviously paying you too much up there in Maryland...3 Minis? You better have a good reason! That first photo with the other 2 Minis poking their noses out from the garage looks just great. Did you fill the wheels with Nitrogen?
He's referring to the double valve stems, used for purging the tire of air while filling with nitrogen. Otherwise, you should inflate, deflate, inflate again with nitrogen (possibly 2-3 times) to get all the "regular air" out. Occasionally worth it, especially if tires are being mounted in hot or humid (or both) environments.
Why is it that Minis are one of very few cars that can look good on a lot of different wheel types?

Got a good reason for two of those MINIs... 26 miles each way for two of us to commute. The convertible... just a weekend toy. Yep, I had them filled with Nitrogen. But as it was pointed out, the two valve stems are in case you want to purge them.

right. and it's a myth that pure nitrogen is any real benefit. the real benefit is the fact that there's low moisture content in the 'processed nitrogen' compared to the normal 'air' that's used.
wheels that use dual valvestems are for hyper-accurate pressure readings - you can read on one valvestem while you fill/release on the other.

The use of pure nitrogen is debatable. The pro-nitrogen community lists as the benefits:
-handling
-fuel efficiency
-tire life through better tire pressure retention, improved fuel economy and cooler running tire temperatures
Some will dispute those assertions, saying there is no evidence.
But hey, there's also no evidence that it hurts in any way, so why not try it ?

Tires - Nitrogen air loss study - http://blogs.consumerreports.org/car...nitrogen-.html
The test started on September 20, 2006 and the final measurements were taken on September 20, 2007. The results show nitrogen does reduce pressure loss over time, but the reduction is only a 1.3 psi difference from air-filled tires. The average loss of air-filled tires was just 3.5 psi from the initial 30 pressure setting. Nitrogen-filled tires lost an average of 2.2 psi from the initial 30 psi setting. More important, all tires lost air pressure regardless of the inflation medium, so consumers should check their tires' air pressure routinely. No evaluation was done to assess the aging claim.
Bottom line: Overall, consumers can use nitrogen and might enjoy the slight improvement in air retention provided, but it's not a substitute for regular inflation checks.
Thanks a bunch!
I just love black wheels on about 99.9% of the Mini's that I've seen so I was on a mission to find some cool black wheels for our new Mini. They are ATS DTM wheels 17x7.5 with a 42mm offset & they are a matte black. The tires are General Exclaim UHP's 215x45x17.
