I have 17" S-Lites on my '06 MC (R50) with absolutely no problem at all. They are shod with Goodyear Eagle RS-A's 205/45-17. I purchased them used from an MCS (R53) owner who was upgrading his wheels, and even though they are heavier than the 15" OEM wheels, I love the look. Good luck!

I tried doing a search but could not find the answer to my question. Can I put 17" lites on my Mini, or am limited to the 16"s?
MC will fit any MINI stock wheel from 15" to 18". Realize that some of the wheels are quite heavy and the MC doesn't have gobs of extra power. Under normal use it's ok but don't accelerate or brake hard or you might notice things are not happening very fast.
MCS will fit any MINI stock wheel except if you have JCW front brakes or if you have a 2007 MCS which has larger brake calipers. In those cases you'd need a 16" wheel or larger.
Clearance for tire diameter is the same for MC and MCS so stock sized tires should be OK. If you lower your MINI then there will be less clearance so just keep the tires to sizes that are stock or slightly less than stock for tire diameter or about 24.3".
