Lower Offset Drive Feel Difference

For those who used wheel spacers or switched to wheels with lower offet, is there any noticeable difference in handling dynamics of the car due to wider stance/ track? Any cons and pros will be appreciated?

I have wheels that range from-

15x5.5 +48 et
15x7 +38 et
15x8 +36 et with 3mm spacers in the rears only
17x7 +42 et
17x7 +48 et

They all fit without rubbing. I can't say that I feel there is anything negative about the offset differences.

More difference occurs as a function of the tire sizes and rubber composition used. Wider tires and sticky rubber performs better.

Wider stance comes with much wider tires and wider rims so traction is better but wheels can be heavier.

You'd have to put on narrow tires and wheels and more the offsets but keep all other variables (tire size, rim size) the same, only changing the offsets by use of spacers.

With narrow tires I don't think you'd get greatly improved stability and certainly narrow tires don't corner as well as wide tires.

Wide tires might not fit a MINI if you use stock sized rims, clearance is not so good. Worse with lowering a MINI.

My widest tires 225mm all go on wheels that have less offset so some tire sticks out of the wheel wells. I haven't tried them with 20mm spacers, that would be quite a bit wider. 15x9.5 rims could be used and 275/35-15 tires might fit with fender trim or with fender kit. One autocrossing MINI has this type of setup and reports it's OK. You'd need longer wheel bolts or studs and thick spacers add some weight.
