R56 vs R53 MINI S offset

I was wondering if any knew if the offset on the R56 and R53 are the same? I believe the later R53 use the 14mm bolts, same as the R56. So if i purchased a wheels for the R53 with 14mm bolts, it would fit the R56 correct? What about the offsets? Are they the same as well?

thanks!

Yes, current 2007 MINIs have 14mm bolts and the same wheel offset as the latest 2006 MCS with 14mm bolts.

So lets say you go searching for wheels on tirerack and state it will be for an MCS built after May 2006 then it would be wheels that match and will also fit the 2007 R56 MINIs.

Aren't the wheel wells a bit larger on the R56 allowing for wider wheels, such as 8", to run without any rubbing? They sure look like they're larger. . . zing!

I would go 17x8, if you can find it, et35-40.

So I have a R53 MCS built 6/6 & most sites do not ask the built before or after 5/6 question.

Does this mean I should be searching for wheels by selecting 2007 Mini Cooper S instead?
