tires slashed

Tires Slashed

Ooooooh, it burns me up.

This am, my wife paged me that her left front tire was flat. I replaced it with the donut spare,
and put some air in it to find that there was a very clean slice in the sidewall, hissing.
Probably done in the early am just before she left for work as she got to work before the car started pulling to one side.

When I walked home from work (same workplace as my wife) at lunchtime, I found my MINI had its rear left tire sliced in the sidewall, and a neighbor two doors up had his rear left tire
sliced as well.

Reported to the police, and they took my statement, ... apparently nothing else they can do.
I do have a relacement wheel/tire in the basement for my wife's car (lucky it's already mounted
for placement on the left - directional tire), but I'll have to get a pair for my MINI.

I guess it's time to replace the Bridgestone S-03's that have done spring/summer/fall duty
since 2003 (205/50/16).

Will go with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx as they're lighter, cheaper, still available, and close in performance.
The Goodyear F1 GSD3's are probably a little better, but I just don't care for the tread pattern,
and the Dunlops have a $50 rebate for a set of 4 this month, and I was going to replace the
Bridgestones next spring anyway.

Just doesn't make you feel safe when this sh*t happens right in front of your house.

Sorry to hear about the vandalism to your cars. I hope they catch the cretins soon.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure they wont. I'm pretty sure they won't even try.
It's by far not the worst thing to happen, but it still really irks me.

Defiling a MINI! I say public hanging would be appropriate!

As one who has taken numerous tire slashing vandalism reports, there is virtually nothing an officer can do. What would you do if you had no suspect information? Nothing.

Best a beat cop can do is ask around and keep an eye out. I suggest putting together an neighborhood watch group.

Peace...

What a ****** to slash someone's tires. It's such a 50's thug thing to do.

If it keeps happening, I'd get a VaccuCam from Octane Guy and let the thing run all night.

Even an old broken cam, set up to look operable, might deter your slasher. Like a scarecrow.
