After reading all this chatter, is there data that shows the diverter actually improves cooling performance?
That is an excellent and fair question. However, I deal with data all day, as long as it doesn't hurt anything I am also about giving the engine bay a finished look and carbon fiber cranks my gears (although I am getting a "forged carbon fiber" fetish now - got some parts coming for the r61 in forged).
I was in touch with Louis today and a new diverter is on its way to my house. Reinforced and pre-drilled. All he asked was that I cut the first one in half, and I did He seems serious about making a good product and being fair to buyers.
Can't wait to report back - should be here next Tuesday.
Same here, no one can say Louis doesn’t stand behind his products, I wish more companies had his integrity. I’ll never have anything bad to say about LEAP.

I did, but now I’m sorry I said something before giving him a chance to make things right.
I received and installed my updated diverter. A few minor changes make a big difference.
It is reinforced. Yes, it is a few ounces heavier but it makes a huge difference. The kit is pre-drilled and countersunk and the hardware includes flat hear hex bolts that sit flush. I am still not a fan of the attachment set up, but it works. I would still prefer the mounts as part of the diverter rather than brackets. I could not get the passenger side to fit behind the bumper cover, but I suspect that is an issue with my cover more than the diverter. I did place black Gorilla Tape along the edge of the bumper cover to prevent any marring. It may not have made a difference, but I would recommend it in any case during the install.
I probably would buy the fiberglass version next time but not sure I'd spend the upgrade price to get the carbon fiber diverter.
Thanks for the update and pics. Mine won’t be going on until spring. After seeing how close the holes are to the edge, I’m glad they are now pre drilled. Also nice to have them countersunk. Thanks to Louis at LEAP again for making the changes and adjustments needed to make this a better designed product. I totally appreciate the effort.
