Taking a rear trailing arm bushing poll

If you have replaced your rear trailing arms with a new bushing, can you give the mileage at the time of replacement and how the car was driven ie, commuting and track or track only etc.

I'll weigh in shortly... I am installing the IE rear inserts this weekend in my daily driver. It'll get the first track workout at AMVIV, and I'll report back after the drive out there (1200 miles), the track work, and return trip.

I've had these stting around for a year now, but I haven't installed them...a few have stated they actually make the backend a bit more nervous. The IE are suposed to reduce rear steer...

Let us know for sure!!!

Alta spherical ball joints - 20,000+ miles

Michael,

Have had the Alta's in for 3 years, well over 20,000 miles of mixed street and a lot of track time. Seem fine. No noise, no complaints.

I replaced the 2003 model year brackets & bushings at the 61,000 mile mark plus added Power Flex poly inserts. Yes, understeer was reduced greatly, however, the rear felt like an over-inflated tether ball; about 200 miles later I removed the poly inserts. Things may be better with the way the later model trailing arm articulates.

How easy are they to install? Do you have to reset the toe-in at the back after,
or can the 3 bolts that keep the toe-in locked stay tight?
I have an 3/2003 suspension.

I did the inserts at 60k. They felt great to me. Now that I'm at 100k+ it is time for new bushings. I'm sure that the inserts helped them to go that long. My other car with stock original bushings is just plain scary at 80k miles.
