Tinkering with our R56

So as soon as we got our Solar Blue into the shop we started to see what parts we could switch over from Eric's R53. For wheels, looks like the PR1's went right in. We also switched over the KWv1 coilovers, the rear suspension looks almost identical to the R56 (already brainstorming what parts I can retrofit onto my R53) so it was an easy swap. The front however is a little more different but we were able to fit the coilovers in after raising the height a bit(to prevent tire rubbing). We'll play around more today and hopefully Eric can provide more info.

FWIW, MINIUSA was telling us at the press launch that the front suspension has an inch of additional travel on the R56 compared to the R50/R53.

Dave: When I was looking around the R56 at the Detroit Auto Show, it very much looked like there was less clearance in the front fenderwell than the R53. There may be more travel from the factory, but it may not be "uptravel" that would help the aftermarket lower the car.

--->Ralph; you were able to install a set of R53 coilovers on the R56?? What was causing the front tire rub, the fenderliner?

Thanks,
Ryan
