I'm glad, since you get to help us tear the Cooper apart for the new upgrades...

Puts them in today...

have to re-install the sub-frame tomorrow morning. On a 1 to 5 scale, this is a 3.5. Dropping the subframe isn't many fasteners, but it's a bit of a chore. And you'll have to take the bushings somewhere with a hydrolic press, if you don't happen to have one at home!

Because the ss sleve is stiff in the bushing, make sure to push the bushing far enough on before you re-mount the arm on the subframe.

Couple things come to mind....

front sway bar. Anything on the power steering. Poly rack bushing. Ball joints. Front strut work would be easy as well, but they're being used to hang the steering knuckle...

I was wondering, are these much more noisy and stiffer than Powerflex bushes?

Hi, Adam. I have had someone discouraging me from fitting these, because they would soon get dirty on road, they told me you can use this if you only go to track or something like that because rain and dust and dirt on normal roads attack them and so they need to be often cleaned. Is that true?

~20k Miles on mine and I've been from Coast to Coast on them as well as multiple track days. Still work fine.

Been in some DIRTY places too, like up Pikes Peak.

Alta doesn't pay me either.

Hey Adam have you guy's thought about this? This would be an awesome idea, a exchange type program . I think more of us would inclined to buy them . Just out of curiosity, my wifes BMW Z4 bushings look just like our Mini's. I think hers are shot, would they work on her car?

Detroit tuned said they plan on starting an exchange program for the pre-installed PSRS's....and that was a while ago so they may have already set something up

In performance, and NVH, how do PSRS compare to Bavauto offset LCA bushings?

Don't know...

don't have them.

The PSRS are a bit noisier than stock, but not a lot. The stock bushing sucks.

you've posted some pics of some pretty dirty excusions. if they held up to that abuse, i think i'll be fine the next time i go "agricultural".

no problems with mine.

sounds as if someone didn't want to drop the subframe!

Well I finally got around to installing the PSRS system and I have two words for you , GET IT ! I am amazed at how 1.5 degrees of caster can completely change the feeling of my car . I am sure that replacing the stock bushing which had a hard life for 65,000 miles had something to do to it but my car never had the front bite that it does now . I am having to relearn the limits all over again as the car now has a much more neutral feel than ever before. When my car was ready to call it quits in a corner the front end was usually the first to give up IE: push. Now it hangs in a lot longer and I have yet to have it break loose. I will have to wait for my next track session to really find the limit but for now the added preciseness of the turn in and ability to hold that line in the hills is greatly appreciated. I can only imagine what an improvement this would be in a auto cross situation. I was expecting some added noise do to the construction of the bushings but if anything it is quieter than before . Hitting the railroad crossings for example give you no hint at all that anything has been changed. My recommendation is that if you are looking to improve the handling of the car do it . If you have the front sub frame dropped for any reason, clutch, tranny whatever do it anyway even if you aren't looking for better handling per se as I feel these will outlast the stockers due to their superior construction.

P.S Alta doesn't pay me and I paid for them

Aw, you're just an Alta shill.

Being an M7 shill, I know one when I see one.

Ok I am getting ready to install these shortly myself. My question is should I do anything else while I am doing this? I have added the rear sway bar and also have the upper and lower front strut braces. I do auto-x but I have not done any track days.
Thanks in advance.

My only thought at the time was to do a powerflex lower tranny mount but its not that hard to do at a later date so I passed on it . If you have a LOT of cash burning a hole in your pocket now would be a great time to drop in that lightweight flywheel , clutch , and Quaife limited slip you've been dieing to buy

Thanks Randy. No disposable cash right now. I forgot - I did have the Quaife LS installed a while back. Boy what an improvement. Expensive but well spent. Considered the flywheel at that time but was outside budget.

Just didn't want to go through all the work and than find out I should have done this or that while the front was disassembled.

Thanks.

I went thru the same deliberations and the only serious contender was the lower tranny mount . You are going to love the improvment
