What effect would this roll bar have on the suspension and handling?

Well, you're adding 60 pounds with a good portion of it up high, which is never good. A four-point rollbar might help make the chassis a little stiffer, but I don't know for certain.

My gut instinct is that you probably won't notice a change in handling, but a roll cage is certainly nice to have, safety-wise. It also gives you a good place to mount your shoulder harnesses.

I had a 4 point bar in a crx years ago and it made a definte noticable difference in stiffining the car up.

I've got a built by bones rollbar in my Cooper. It makes it sound different. It might make a small difference in handling, but not much IMHO. I wouldn't buy one just for the possible handling boost. Buy one if you want to use harnesses.

I noticed a difference in steering and lateral traction even though logically it shouldn’t have. Added weight had its effects but top heavy isn’t one of them. Mine is also a Built-By-Bones bar but with different mounting points for the support braces.
