Tein Coilovers

I would like to hear some feedback from people who are running either the Tein Basic or the Tein Super Street (with or without EDFC).

How do they feel on the street?

How do they feel on the track (I have yet to go)?

Are they slightly harsher than stock or are they insane harsh (500lb/in rate on the springs)?

If you set the dampers to the softest setting and raise the car to the max height allowed, how does the ride compared to stock?

Any physical issues?

What upper strut mounts are you running with these and why?

Thanks.

I'm not sure there are a whole lot of Mini owners that have gone with the Tiens. I think their spring rates have scared most away. I saw a set of these in person a few days ago, though not for a Mini, and was impressed it looks, but they were quite heavy. I'd consider them myself, but more for the track.

Got the following comment via PM from Android993 re: the coilovers:

They do have a set of 350 lbs springs which they tried and said it was on the soft side for any track work, DE or time trials. Using the EDFC and dialing it all the way up gives you just what you expect, nice stiff ride with predictable cornering. If I was going to do it again I think they should make a 385-400 lbs spring. It might get closer to the best of both worlds. Right now mine leans towards a stiff but not unbearable ride. Call Jonathan at World One Performance and see if they came out with the replacement kit. Otherwise its held up very well and very satisified with Tein and what they did for me. Also no problems to report. Andy

How are they on the street?

Thanks much.
