..and yes, the only suspension work I plan to do on my car (for the foreseeable future) are the m7 lowering springs and the rear sway bar - which are both already in the mail on their way to my garage.

Please don't take this wrong, but if you want the most for your mod money, get a book on tuning suspensions. It sill tell you what the different changes are, and when you know how you want to make your car behave, you'll have a much better grasp of what to do, in what order, and why.

That said, get the rear sway bar!

The same price as on any other MINI. Depending on the bar it will be between $120-475. Plus install unless you do it yourself

the install cost portion is what I'm looking for, or a time estimate so I can guestimate costs.

A good fast shop will ding you for 1-2 hours....

Depending on rates.. You're looking at less than $100 to about $250. I did it in my garage without the right tools, or a lift, and had it in in less than 4 hours, with a brake for dinner!

Matt

ps, I'm slow, and I'd never done it before....

I just won a bid for a new set of H-Sport Comp sways on ebay for $280 INCLUDING shipping. You should look there. I have always done sways first. You will notice a major difference in handling. I'm doing fr/rr tower bars second.

Not true at all. There is a time when a front strut bar is a must.

For a stock suspension and tire setup, no, it's really not a mod I would do.
Personally I believe that it's a mod that should come much later then most others.
Once you have gotten into stiffer springs, sway bars, and sticky track tires, it's then time to look into this strut bar as there G forces on the chassis are much greater.
So, it's only really a "bling" mod if you want it to be. Some models of this bar are in fact 'bling' only, which is unfortunate.

very good points...but on a side note (off topic) your video of you with passing all those P-cars in that video...Whats the deal there - were they just parading around and letting you pass - or were they just bad drivers? I can't for a second imagine that you would honestly be able to put moves on those cars like that... but then again, i'm not sure what it is you are running under your hood...but either way, cool video

I actually paid them to let me do that ....

Actually LRP is a track that the Mini can be equal to P-Cars. Cant really speak for the drivers here. I do know that some were just in the way and some were really pushing it. I have other videos that show a bit more of a challenge, some that I can't get by. Maybe I should put together a new video one evening. More like a montage....

That is an awsome video.
It looks to me like your lines are much cleaner.{good turn in points}, but you realy excell in the late braking.
